Depuis notre retour du Pérou, on reçoit énormément de questions sur la façon dont on s’est préparés à l’altitude.🇵🇪 C’était aussi notre plus grande préoccupation avant ce voyage qui impliquait de gravir de hauts sommets 🏔️. Voici donc quelques conseils simples si tu planifies un voyage là-bas :

👉 Prends quelques jours en ville au début du voyage pour t’acclimater. Cusco est à 3400 m d’altitude et le corps a vraiment besoin de temps pour s’adapter.

👉 Après quelques jours en ville, tu peux commencer avec des randonnées d’une journée en altitude. À Cusco, Humantay Lake (4200 m) est un excellent choix, et du côté de Huaraz, Laguna 69 (4600 m) est vraiment magnifique!

👉 Et surtout, ne néglige pas l’assurance voyage. On ne veut jamais penser au pire, mais en voyage ou en montagne, ça fait partie de la préparation. De notre côté, on voyage plusieurs fois par année et on est assurés avec @croixbleueduquebec. Ça nous sécurise toujours de savoir qu’ils offrent une assistance 24/7 et une couverture en cas d’accident ou de maladie. Et surtout, c’est rassurant de savoir que même quand on part plusieurs jours en randonnée, loin de la civilisation à plus de 4000m d’altitude, on est couvert. On peut donc en profiter à 100%. ☺️ #croixbleueduquébec #pub

Postcard from the Huayhuash Trek in Peru 🇵🇪

We’ve been dreaming of this trek since the first time we set foot in Peru. Unfortunately, the weather had other plans for us the first time. Mountain weather can be so unpredictable and we had no choice but to postpone this hike.

This year, everything felt aligned. The weather wasn’t perfect the entire time, but I’d say we got very lucky overall. I couldn’t have asked for better! This is the longest trail we’ve done so far: 8 days offline & 105 km. I honestly feel like I could have done more, the adventure was so magical, I didn’t want it to end. Trips like this make me feel truly alive! I’m also incredibly proud that we managed to do this hike entirely on our own, carrying our gear for 8 days straight and hiking at high altitude the whole time.

Peru is magical! I always say it, but this is hands down my favorite country in South America. I know I’ll be back again for more! 🇵🇪
